Sports: Didier Drogba denies reports that he has retired from playing football!!

On Wednesday, reports emerged, primarily from French newspaper L’Equipe, that Chelsea legend Didier Drogba had retired from playing football. It was thought that the Ivorian striker would retire from playing in order to start a coaching role at Stamford Bridge. But it seems that Drogba’s retirement rumours was reported too early as he has since addressed it.

News: Twin Explosions Hit Jos Park, UNIJOS Gate, kill 12 #WilkeyPerkinsBlog

At least, 12 persons were killed and scores of others injured as two separate bombs exploded in Jos on Thursday.

Our correspondent gathered that the first bomb went off at the Bauchi Road motor park, adjacent to the Bauchi road campus of the University of Jos at about 4.30pm, while the second one occurred almost simultaneously in front of the UNIJOS gate.

Cardiff have announced annual losses of £12million to take the club's total debt to £174million.

The club's latest figures, lodged with Companies House, cover the year ending May 2014 which saw Cardiff relegated from the Barclays Premier League after only one season.

Revenue in the top flight increased to £79.9million - courtesy mainly to £63.9million of broadcast payments - but the accounts show £45million was spent on transfers and £46.7million on wages. continue...

Police claim Mohammad Hossain tied up the 19-year-old, stripped her, and beat her until she was in tears, after she agreed to go back to his university dorm room on Saturday.

Sport news today: Sergio Busquets to extend Barca stay #WilkeyPerkinsBlog

The Spain international, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, will put pen to paper on his new deal on Friday.

A statement from Barcelona read: "FC Barcelona have reached agreement with Sergio Busquets to extend his contract with the club until June 30th 2019, with an option for a further year after that.

The Federal Executive Council gave the go head to President Goodluck Jonathan’s anticipatory approval of different foreign loans totaling about $403million for Lagos, Rivers, Ogun and Osun States among others.

This was in addition to $1.2billion multi-donor credits approved for the establishment of the proposed Development Bank of Nigeria.

Troops involved in the ongoing counter terrorism operation in the North-East have arrested a number of terrorists who disguised as women in Baga, Borno State.

Baga, the headquarters of the Multi National joint Task Force, was captured by the insurgents in January but was recaptured by the Special Forces on Saturday.

He said this in Abeokuta on Monday.

Delta State Police Command has recovered 7,365 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) which were carted away by gunmen, who invaded the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area recently.

The Comptroller of Prisons in Cross River, Clement Udosen, has confirmed that some inmates at Afokang Prison in Calabar South Local Government Area, on Friday attempted a jail break.

Udosen told newsmen in Calabar that the inmates overpowered some prison guards, seized their rifles, fired shots and injured some of the guards.

News: 90’s Rapper Vanilla Ice Arrested For Home Burglary #WilkeyPerkins Blog

Popular 90s rapper, actor and TV host Vanilla Ice, 47, has been arrested for stealing furniture from inside a home close to the one he was renovating. *sigh*. Report below by TMZ…

Vanilla Ice has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft for allegedly stealing furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other stuff from a vacant home in Florida.

Lantana PD tells TMZ … it’s all connected to Ice’s TV show, “The Vanilla Ice Project.” Ice was renovating a nearby home and allegedly thought it was a good idea to go to the abandoned place and take the items in question.

Apparently, even though the house was vacant, the rightful owner had a problem with someone jacking their belongings … thus the burglary charge. The cops got a search warrant and recovered some of the items.

Popular Nollywood star, Hanks Anuku has disclosed to City FM Radio in Ghana that he allegedly infected his wife with HIV and slept with 80 women.

He said this happened when he left for Zambia without his family in 2011 to take part in plays teaching about HIV and AIDS.

“Life in Zambia was heaven on earth because we could enjoy life, moving in all places but I was missing my family. During that time I had quite a number of s*xual activities and I slept with different women. When I came back home I never took care of the family. I started drinking and became an irresponsible husband, leaving the entire burden to my wife,” he said. continue...

Fresh facts emerged on Thursday about the allegation by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, that President Goodluck Jonathan’s Peoples Democratic Party gave some pastors N6bn to campaign against the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.
