Premium Times reports that the state command has arrested two ex-convicts for allegedly smuggling substances that tested positive to cannabis sativa.
The NDLEA Kano Commander, Ahmadu Garba, who made this known to newsmen, gave the names of the suspects as Ejike Martins, 53, and ThankGod Obums, 35.
The commander said the suspects, were arrested along Emir Road, Sabon Gari, in a dark green Mercedes Benz Car with registration number AA809AJG containing compressed 104 blocks of Cannabis sativa weighing 66 kilogrammes.
According to him, the anti-narcotics watchdog responded swiftly to an intelligence report on the duo, adding that they caught up with them at Emir Road, where they were found with 66kg of Indian hemp.
Garba further hinted that the suspects confessed to owning the illicit drugs, and that it was a joint business as they both contributed the start-up capital for the business.
