Unknown Gunmen Kidnap NURTW Boss In Abia

From PUNCH newspaper reports that Chief Nwakodo was trailed by his abductors, who suddenly double-crossed him as he was driving to his village at the close of work.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, said the whereabouts of the NURTW boss remained unknown as his abudctors were yet to establish contact.
According to Ogbonna, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, it was not yet clear what the motives of those behind the action was.
He, however, assured of the police command’s efforts to track down the perpetrators, while appealing to members of the public to volunteer any useful information that could lead to the rescue of the victim.
The police spokesman noted that pockets of violent crimes witnessed occasionally in some parts of the state in recent times, did not mean the return of the era of kidnapping, which almost grounded activities in the state to a halt for the most part of 2010.
He assured that security agents in the state with the assistance of the state government, were making spirited efforts to ensure the safety of all residents, vowing that criminals will not be allowed to operate in the state.
